Winter Camp

January 19-21, 1986

Parker Scout Reservation was the site of this year's winter outing. We tied making snow domes to sleep in but were not very successful.

The troop stayed in the admin building.

Hurry up with the cooking. I'm hungry!

We had a lot of fun skiing this weekend.

We tried to make snow shelters, but...

February Court of Honor

February 1986

The troop held its first court of honor of the year at the VFW clubrooms in Melrose. We also recognized a couple people from the community for their Scouting support.

There was a pot luck dinner held before the court of honor.	The opening included an explanation of the ranks.	There were quite a few awards to be presented.	More awards being handed out.

Ripley Rendezvous

April 4-6, 1986

The annual Central Minnesota Council Ripley Rendezvous was a big hit with the Scouts again this year. It is held at Camp Ripley, the National Guard base.

Most of the troop membership attended this outing.

A checker tournament was one of the activities Friday night.

Yeah, I know. I am soooo cute.

We celebrated a birthday while we were at the outing.

Camp Watchamagumee

April 25-27, 1986

We went to Camp Watchamagumee a month earlier this year because the weather was so nice.

A couple of the guys tried lashing a table.	Time to learn a few new skills.	One of the dads brought a chainsaw along.	The new bridge was made over a small stream.

Webelos Graduation

April 28, 1986

The Webelos of Pack 68 graduated into Melrose Boy Scout Troop 68. The event was held at the old Melrose Junior High School.

Scout-O-Rama

May 3, 1986

Boy Scout Troop 68 decided to built a pioneering project for this year's Scout-O-Rama, a signal tower! It may have leaned a bit to one side but we were proud of it.

The lashings are almost completed.

It is time to raise the tower, very carefully.

Cub Scout Pack 68 had a booth inside the St. Cloud Civic Center.

Primitive Camp Outing

May 16-18, 1986

The troop went to Camp Watchamagumee a second time this spring. This time we built our own shelters for a primitive camp outing.

May Court of Honor

May 26, 1986

The second court of honor of the year was held at the Melrose High School Little Theater.

September Court of Honor
September 29, 1986

Boy Scout Troop help a fall court of honor at the Melrose High School Little Theater. Also included is a picture of the group who help with the city's leaf pickup service project.

Broc and Chad receive the Progressive Scout Award.

Thirteen Boy Scouts assisted with the City of Melrose's fall leaf pickup project.

SCAMHAF Camporee

October 24-26, 1986

The SCAMHAF camporee was held at Birch Lake State Park campground. SCAMHAF stands for Sauk Centre, Albany, Melrose, Holdingford, Avon, and Freeport, the troops that were involved with the outing. Each troop was responsible for one activity for the event.
