So Steve can Zomb meet a guy to teach him how to dual wield.
And Alex and Dakota I guess the rules for dual wielding are as follows.
18 dexterity weapons regular hand regular second hand -1
17 dexterity weapons regular hand -1 second hand -2
16 dexterity weapons regular hand -2 second hand -3 and so on.
But we need someone to teach us how to dual wield. |

I'm 17 dex so that seems like a possible option for me as well, although I do suck at hitting in the first place so maybe not... _________________

| My deterity is 16 but with my + 2 longsword I could make it so I have a -1 for both hands. Worth it but who to teach us. |

| Well I think we need to just talk to Steve. Unless Urza or Lytle could teach us. I'm sure they would over exaggerate the price though to make some quick cash. |

Good idea I will have a talk with Steve the next time I have a game.
With my 18 strenght I get a hit propability of 1 so that would bring me back to my normal hit table.
Sergio is already so powerful that dual welding would make him over powered. Level 21 cleric, wizard, and dual welding fighter. I would not only be scared but very impressed. |

It depends what your armor class is.
Keep in mind, you don't get a shield.
If you remember the last time we played, I got hit a lot.
If you can't kill something in 2 turns, it's not worth it.
The more rounds = more chances of 20s and death.
I wouldn't so it until you're level 7 when you get 3 attacks every 2 turns. So you'd have two attacks on one, and 3 attacks on two. With 5 attacks, you can kill a lot of stuff.
If you need more than that, it's better to go with a +1/+2 shield.
A +1 shield adds 2 points to your armor class, not something to be dismissed.
And Urza isn't a weaponsmaster, neither is Lytle. We cannot teach you if we wanted to. |

I've looked all over the books and found the section on dual wielding with the plus and minueses but can't find anything about finding a weapon master to train you.
So, the question is where do we find this guy. if Lytle and Urza found him it can't be too difficult. _________________

| I was doing the math and with the right weapons I could hit for a minimum of nine and a max of 34. I am about 10,000 exp. away from level 7. Then I could hit for a minimum 13 and a max of 52 every second turn. The weapons are a long sword +2 and a bastard sword. |

I would definitely wait until lvl 7 to dual wield. Before that you don't have the HP or damage to be worth it.
Mike L. lays forth a good argument about AC. Shields are nice in certain situations. It's probably a good idea to have someone dual wielding, maybe two, for maximum damage though.
Me, I'll probably stick with the higher AC. _________________

I will learn how to dual wield but I won't use it untill I hit 7 level. It would be nice to carry the shield around too that way when fighting a vampire or creature of that nature when damage done by the other creature is to great to take the risk you would have the higher AC and when fighting big groups like lizardmen when get hit is not that bad you can dual wield to attack with extra damage.
Luck for me I tend to roll on the high end when it comes to damage. |
