On Saturday, July 7th, the Melrose Boy Scouts will be conducting a Sauk River cleanup. This cleanup is an Eagle project for Michael Schwieters. The scouts and other volunteers will be picking up trash in the water and on the shore of the Sauk River.

If anyone wants to help with this project or lend a canoe for the project, they should contact Michael Schwieters at (320)-837-5330. The project will begin at 9:00 A.M. and last till about 1:00 P.M. Lunch and refreshments will be served to all the volunteers that helped after the project is completed.

Boy Scouts should plan to attend this activity.

Also, if there is any former scouts that would like to help out with this project that would be very helpful. I did canoe the river yesterday and the water was a little low, but we were able to canoe the whole river without portaging (other than by the dam). Surprisingly though, there wasnt that much trash, a couple tires and some barrells but other than that it wasn't too bad...it could still use a cleanup though...

Scouts or other volunteers should bring sunscreen, water, bugspray, and life jackets. Saturdays forecast is around 95 degrees.

hey steve, tonight can i come over and get the paddles, and gloves that we use for road cleanup??? Also, i need to get the money out of the credit union and i probably need you to get it out....so you should leave a message or call me...i didnt want to disrupt you at work with a call...so thats why i left this message on here....
