|

How about this year we design Watchamagumee around a D&D adventure? Design the weekend as a group adventure with various challenges to overcome. Such as crossing an acid filled pond by crawling across a rope, swinging across a chasm by using a rope of climbing, battling various monsters using bow, axe, and darts; destroying a magic user by sling-shooting spells at him. Adventurers would get hit points based on number of Scouting ranks attained (instead of experience levels).
Meals would be cooked over open fires, no stoves allowed. Maybe try starting fire with tinder box (flint and steel). Lunch would be eaten "on the trail". Gear and meals would have to be carried along as if actually on an adventure in real life, but the whole weekend would be in Watchamgumee. Everyone would need a pack of some sort.
What do you guys think? _________________ Scoutmaster

Oh, and every camper would need armor (cardboard painted to look like armor?). This would be made outside of troop meetings.
Attend Camp Ripley and merit badge weekend and earn bonus "hit points". _________________ Scoutmaster

He won't need to. He will be in Colorado.
However, if this is to fly, I will need plenty of help to pull this off.
I might need Urza, Joe, and Cooncarin to help with this outing or at least several parents. _________________ Scoutmaster

Sounds like Mazes & Monsters to me...
(One of Tom Hank's finest performances imo btw)
Alex is going to wander into St. Cloud trying to fight invisible demons...I can see it now! |

Replace St. Cloud with the cities.
Oh, I have found another use of a towel. If andy had a towel the black gem thing could have turned out better.
*slides black gem into towel, wraps it up, and leaves a note saying "Gift to Ziatic guild enemies."* _________________ Name: Oswald

I was thinking of one more contest I think should be added to the mix.
Fire starting by flint and steel!
Who can start a fire the fastest?
Better start practicing now! _________________ Scoutmaster

Hey Mike,
Do you think we could do some sort of trebuche or catapult at Watchumagumee?
Also:
Anyone have ideas for prizes for the overnighter?

I think a catapult could be possible, but full size ones take time to build. _________________
