I'm considering rolling a new character just to have on me in case of emergencies. What I need to know though is this....does first edition have Katana blades? And what are my options for learning "move silently" and "hide in shadows" if I'm not a thief?

Basically I wanna make a sort of samuri. Probably elvish, but maybe human...idk...you tell me

I thought ninjas were more likely to use blades like that and hide in shadows and what not. Samaris are more like, "I must protect my honor, help people and what not and fight them with honor in a 1 on 1."

Still cool though.

Yea but when I think of Ninja I think of evil. So my guy would be more like "Samurai Jack" Here's a pic.

And he could do it all. He used a katana, he hid a lot, and was fast. My guy, like Jack, would kind of follow the Bushido way of life.

There's an article on wikipedia for you. But anyway, I know there's no way I could actually make a samurai, which is why I asked Steve if there's any way a fighter can learn those techniques, and if there's a katana sword in DND. I know there is one in 2nd, but not sure about first.

Oh ok, then ya Samerias are awesome. Ninja's aren't really much different then Samerias, just different codes. But yes, it would be cool if you could do that.
