As I am sure most of you out-of-towners have heard, Melrose is in the news again. Kyle Weisbrich was killed in an auto/motorcycle accident here in town. He was on his way to a fire when it happened. From the looks of it, Melrose will be a media capital toward the end of this week as the media and firemen from across the state come to town for the wake and funeral. It is expected that 1000-2000 people will be in attendance at the funeral. Keep Kyle's family in your prayers.
Melrose will also be highlighted on the History channel on Wednesday, November 22, when a show about holiday foods features the Jennio Turkey Store of Melrose. Check your local listings for when it airs on your cable system.
Freeport will be on Channel 5's "On The Road" series this weekend, I have heard. I am not sure which day it will be on. The Hemker Animal Farm will be featured on the show which deals with unusual pets.
So...some bad news from the area, and some nice stories from the area. |
