Alright everyone...
I am just wondering which carrier you have for your cel phone,
and how many minutes per month you use. _________________ Scoutmaster

Verizon.
That I'm charged for: 200 Minutes.
How many I use in addition: 1200-1800. (verizon has the 10 free people and that 9pm and free weekends)
Tom and I share a plan, so we have each other on the 10 free people, our parents, girlfriends, or in his case, wife. Alltel came up with it, but basically every plan has the 5-10 free people thing.
If you're thinking about switching, it basically comes down to:
1. Do you want an iPhone? (AT&T)
2. Do you want cheap? (Boost Mobile)
3. Do you hate dropped calls/coverage everywhere? (Verizon)
4. Do you call a lot of people at 7? (Sprint)
5. Will you use it as a PDA first, phone second? (AT&T)
6. Do you want your PDA/Phone to make actual calls? (Android phone, Verizon)
I can give you my consumer reports issue on cell phone over thanksgiving break if you'd like. It compares them all without bias really well. |

| I have Verizon, I don't use many messages, mostly just texts. I like it cuz it is free to call or text all other Verizon users, which makes for a lot of free calls when that is what your friends and family have. |

Sprint, family plan with ma pa and Rico. Similar to verizon I don't get charged minutes if I call other sprint people. Personally, I don't have text messages (I wish I did but my parents won't add it to the plan) and I use about 100 minutes a month. I pay like 20 bucks.
Also, I vote sprint has the best coverage in Melrose. I used to have verizon and it never worked in Melrose but sprint does. Pretty much everything mike said was accurate though about picking a service. _________________

| Verizon doesn't always work the best for me in Melrose, I can usually get a bar or two outside, but once I go inside places it has a tougher time picking up signal in Melrose. |

this may be a day late / dollar short type deal, but i'm very happy with my sprint plan. phone i have is a blackberry tour. i will never go back to another phone, i love ma blackberry. not a fan of the iphone, especially with it's crappy At&t - the plans are ridiculously expensive. plus, i like having a phone with buttons, not the touch screen.
i guess my only advice would be not to buy an LG - I, along with others, have had numerous problems with them. |

And the new droid phone?
Not impressive. Rather clunky. Granted, this could be planned obsolescence, but it's a second-rate product. |

| I have verizon and I enjoy it, probably because the majority of people around here have verizon so i never have to worry about exceeding my minutes or texts. Also, other than in Steve's basement, I never have had reception troubles. Lastly, I agree with the LG, I have had two LG's and both broke after about a year, although I did work at a golf course where they were exposed to sand. But like Enrico said, this may be to late |

No, it is not too late. I just wanted opinions about cel phones. I was thinking about maybe switching over to a cel phone plan and ditching the land line, but I have not done anything yet. _________________ Scoutmaster

Heh, sorry to point this out, but has anybody else noticed that Steve has repeatedly spelled it "cel" phone. I guess he truly doesn't know much about them. Just kidding around Steve. _________________
