A Scoutmaster's Blog

This is a online journal of a Boy Scout troop scoutmaster's point of view and thoughts on over 25 years as a Boy Scout Leader in central Minnesota. This site also serves as the home of the "Melrose Scouting Productions Podcast" which features Scouting related videos. Visit the site of Melrose Boy Scout Troop 68 at http://www.melrosetroop68.org for nearly 200 pages of local Scouting history.

Youtube Scouting Groups

Yahoo has Scouting groups. Google has Scouting groups. Did you know that the YouTube video site also has Scouting groups? Yes it does. In fact, there are several groups on YouTube that feature videos about Scouting. There are videos about Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Explorers. There are videos about Scouts singing, performing skits, and on Scout activities. There are literally thousands of Scouting videos found on YouTube. The groups provide a great way to find them quickly and easily. Here are a few of the groups that I belong to...

Boy Scout Stuff:
This is a group that I started after posting several Scouting videos online. I wanted a place to find the videos quickly and to provide easy access for others. The site includes some videos posted by others from around the world, and BSA commercials and promotional films. As I write this there are 96 videos posted to this group. You can check it out and even join the group by clicking HERE.

Scouting:
This is a good group that contains a lot of Scouting videos, 139 at last count. The group features a lot of videos of Cub and Boy Scouts filmed at various activities. I think it is great to see what Scouts in other countries are doing. Check it out by clicking HERE.

scouting4peace:
This group was started by a Scout Leader in Egypt and contains some great videos from that area and some videos from world Scouting activities. It is well worth a look. Check it out by clicking HERE.

Take a look at these groups when you get the chance. Allow yourself a little time to watch some interesting videos. Then support the group(s) by joining it as a member. It would be great to see these Scouting groups grow and have a stronger presence on the YouTube site.
